It starts here. Please start clementine from terminal, and post the output.

Hmm it fails here on my laptop, however it works in a VM, weird. The only terminal output is:

10:12:12.804 WARN unknown libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile
10:12:13.193 WARN unknown libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile

Which is not exactly helpful. I'll look into it.

Okay, fixed it by deleting ~/.config/Clementine. Please try that and report back here.

Do you have any mounted (especially inaccessible) network drives?
I get the same behaviour you reported when my NFS mount becomes unreachable.

@Achilleas : I actually pretty quickly installed Clementine via another route, before I got any replies here, so I am not able to check. BUT: that's a likely possibility. At the time I was installing Arch and so I had definitely been using a number of drives to copy over files and whatnot from my previous install.
