Please add to systemd's ntpd.service file support of PID file.
Like this: ExecStart=/usr/bin/ntpd -g -u ntp:ntp -p /var/run/ntpd.pid

Why would you add such a file? Does systemd track ntp processes incorrectly without this?

I need to use it with monit. Well, anyways I did it myself, just in case of standardization and stuff.

Well, /run/ntpd.not, not /var/run/ntpd.pid.

Since we already use Type=forking for the unit, it seems reasonable to add this and also use PIDFile=/run/ntpd.pid

/run/ntpd.pid? Sure, why not, if I get it right there's a symlink /var/run -> /run
