Description:

I'd like to be able to install both e16 and e17 and be able to use them without any interference between the two desktops. I notice that after using e16 and opening epplets ,then logging out of e16 and into e17 those epplets will appear on the e17 desktop. Also, it seems that the tray apps (startup apps) carry over from e17 to e16.

I like to use e16 now and then just because it's a fun desktop, but also like the latest techology in e17. Any chance that they can be completely seperated?

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

login to e16, open a epplet
logout
login to e17, epplet is one e17 desktop

startup apps don't close when logging out of e17
e16 tray contains those apps, even though I haven't configured them to start in e16

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  LXDE session manager was the cause.

Is the bug still there with enlightenment 0.18.3-1 ?

No it is no longer there in e18. However, I think the whole issue was that my previous desktop was LXDE and that LXDE used a session manager by default, which was starting apps on login to e17 after logining out of e16. I took some time and completely removed LXDE and have not had this issue since.

So, all is well in the land of enlightenment.
