Description:

I noticed that the directory /usr/share/alienarea is some 1.2Gb in size. This fills up my /usr partition. There is usually more room available on the /var partition... Would it be possible to move the game data to /var/lib/alienarena?

I have now moved the directory there and placed a sym link on the original spot. Feels like a work-around...

Additional info:
* alienarena 7.66

Reason for closing:  Won't fix
Additional comments about closing:  All our game stuff is in /usr/share and besides it doesn't really matter where it is. I'm certainly not going to move it for one user for one game.

Why would /var be larger than /usr? That makes no sense at all in a modern desktop Linux install, and to say that that's usually the case is just wrong.

Upstream installs it to /usr/share, I don't see why Arch should move it.

Moving them to /var/lib will fill my /var partition, can we keep them in /usr/share?

(I'm joking, but I don't expect packagers to take decision based on users' partitions size)
