Description:
I recently did a 'pacman -S gnome' on a new harddrive, and hand-selected my typical gnome installation; unfortunately, none of my selected packages (including gdm and gnome-shell) brought in gstreamer. Unfortunately, gdm didn't start on my next reboot; when trying to discover why, I finally noticed that g-shell linked against libgst (seemingly automagically at compile time), but the libs were missing on my system. [ajb@thinkpad ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/gnome-shell | grep gst libgstbase-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgstbase-1.0.so.0 (0x00007fb429100000) libgstreamer-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgstreamer-1.0.so.0 (0x00007fb428dfe000) Installing gstreamer made gdm start right up. |
