The packaged VLC in the extra repository lacks Fluidsynth support since around 2.0.8-ish. I was able to rebuild it with such support simply by having Fluidsynth installed. Please add 'fluidsynth' back to makedepends/optdepends. Thanks. I have no idea why this is now absent.

I am not able to rebuild it with Fluidsynth support.
I get this error message:

Issue caused by glib2, should build fine with latest version from core.

Well, still no support for MIDIs.
We need this file: /usr/lib/vlc/plugins/codec/libfluidsynth_plugin.so

My AUR package vlc-fluidsynth only fails because AVCodec is newer than expected.
