Is the most recent package, version 10.0.11-1, the one that's not working for you?

I rebuilt as 10.0.11-2 against kernel26 2.6.15.4-2 in the hopes of getting somewhere for you.

It should show up shortly in extra.

Does this help?

I also have a Logitech QuickCam 4000 Pro that's not working.

Upgrading to 10.0.11-2 didn't help (kernel is 2.6.15.4-2), dmesg says:

pwc: Supports Philips PCA645/646, PCVC675/680/690, PCVC720[40]/730/740/750 & PCVC830/840.

pwc: the Creative WebCam 5 & Pro Ex, SOTEC Afina Eye and Visionite VCS-UC300 and VCS-UM100.

I've also got the 4000. I get the following (and normal working behavior under motion):

usb 1-8: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 9
Linux video capture interface: v1.00
pwc: Philips webcam module version 10.0.11-unofficial loaded.
pwc: Supports Philips PCA645/646, PCVC675/680/690, PCVC720[40]/730/740/750 & PCVC830/840.

pwc: Logitech QuickCam 4000 Pro USB webcam detected.
pwc: Registered as /dev/video0.
usbcore: registered new driver Philips webcam
usbcore: registered new driver snd-usb-audio

I wonder if there could be different hardware or firmware in some of the 4000s that is different than the others? Or could it somehow be different USB interfaces?

Problem solved for me: I had the webcam connected to USB hub, but moving the cam straight to the motherboard's USB connection fixed this issue.
