When installing Arch on a UEFI system, the user will also need to install dosfstools, otherwise fsck.fat will fail on every boot, and he/she will be unable to interact with the EFI partition.

With UEFI systems becoming more and more common (every desktop/laptop sold right now has UEFI), I think this package should be added to the base group.

Additional comments about closing:  As on ML discussed no need to be in base

It can be added to the iso without it being part of the base group.

It is already on the ISO. I think it would be beneficial to add it to the base group so it is available by default on new installs.

UEFI is very common, so including this small package in base makes sense. It's going to see a lot more usage than reiserfsprogs/jfsutils and it's significantly smaller.

Because of the recent discussion in the mailing list (to which I cannot reply), I just wanted to clarify:

The original wording of my rationale is not quite correct. What I meant to say with "interact with", is that you are unable to do things like change the label or check/repair the file system.

While these might be considered minor things, I think they can be very important, especially for something as crucial as an EFI system partition.
