Description:

Just upgraded my system. Xorg fails to start because nvidia kernel module does not load. I get these messages in dmesg :

[ 39.379924] nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol acpi_bus_unregister_driver
[ 39.379928] nvidia: Unknown symbol acpi_bus_unregister_driver (err -22)
[ 39.379935] nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol acpi_bus_get_device
[ 39.379936] nvidia: Unknown symbol acpi_bus_get_device (err -22)
[ 39.379963] nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol acpi_bus_register_driver
[ 39.379964] nvidia: Unknown symbol acpi_bus_register_driver (err -22)

However, when I recompile the nvidia package using ABS everything works fine. So I suspect that the nvidia package in extra wasn't compiled with the right kernel version.

Additional info:

Package versions :

* nvidia 331.20-1
* nvidia-libgl 331.20-1
* linux 3.12.3-1
* linux-headers 3.12.3-1

Config files:

/etc/X11/xorg.conf is configured to use the nvidia driver

Steps to reproduce:

1. Install the above packages
2. Try to start x
3. Xorg fails to start
