DetailsDescription:
After installing multilib/skype on a fresh installation of x86_64 Arch, skype crashes shortly after launch without displaying any user interface. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. multilib/skype 4.2.0.11-3 (Under the assumption that the sole culprit is libfreetype) depends on multilib/lib32-qt4 4.8.5-6 depends on multilib/lib32-fontconfig 2.11.0-1 depends on multilib/lib32-freetype2 2.5.1-1 Running "skype" under terminal reports segmentation fault. systemd log reports: segfault at 184 ip 00000000f2be8b63 sp 00000000ff8aba40 error 4 in libfreetype.so.6.11.0[f2bcb000+9c000] Steps to reproduce: Under a x86_64 Arch Linux installation that hadn't installed any package from multilib 1. Enable multilib, and refresh package database 2. Install skype with `sudo pacman -S skype`. Use default settings for any prompt. 3. Start skype with `skype` Potential Fix: For now, downgrade lib32-freetype2 to version 2.5.0.1-1 seems to allow skype to launch without a segfault. |
