DetailsI'm using pulseaudio and I control volume with gnome-control-center, and I'm not sure which package is causing the error.
Description: In gnome-control-center I have these sound output devices: 1. Analog Output 2. Speakers 3. Headphones Without headphones I can only see (1) and (2), while with headphones I can only see (1) and (3). Selecting (1) or (3) while using headphones makes no difference. Without headphones only selecting (2) will play sounds: selecting (1) will not play any sound. Initially speakers work; I plug my headphones and gnome-control-center automatically goes from (2) to (3). Then I unplug the headphones and it goes from (3) to (1). At this point sound is not working (I have to manually open gnome-control-center and set (2)). This happens sporadically, and when I do that manual change it never happens again until reboot (unplugging headphones makes gnome-control-center correctly go from (3) to (2)). Additional info: * pulseaudio (version 4.0-271-g09e8-dirty) * gnome-control-center (version 3.10.2) Steps to reproduce: * Open gnome-control-center, select "Sound" and then select the "Output" tab. * "Speakers" should be selected. Plug headphones. * "Heaphones" should be selected. Unplug headphones. * Now, instead of returning to Speakers, gnome-control-center (or pulseaudio?) selected "Analog Output" |

Please report it upstream, or ask the pulseaudio / gnome devs
