DetailsDescription:
In order for getmail to use the Gnome keyring for storing passwords, the package python2-gnomekeyring must be installed. Otherwise, the user receives an error that there is "no such option." This dependency is listed nowhere in documentation (I happened across a mailing list that described this dependency: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.mail.getmail.user/4668/), so it would be helpful to users if the python2-gnomekeyring package was listed as an optional dependency. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install getmail. 2. Attempt to store a password using $ getmail --store-password-in-gnome-keyring 3. Attempt fails with error message "no such option." 4. Install python2-gnomekeyring. 5. Repeat step 2. Attempt succeeds. |
