Description: After upgrade from 4.0.4-1 to 4.1-1, texmaker will no longer run. When I run it in terminal, the following output is obtained:

$ texmaker
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I have looked in the system journal (journalctl -b), but there is nothing there. Downgrading to 4.0.4-1 resolves problem

Note: I run [testing].

Steps to reproduce:
Run [testing] and upgrade from 4.0.4-1 to 4.1-1.

This no longer happens here in texmaker 4.1-1. Can you install the latest version and test to confirm?

With texmaker at 4.1-1:

claire╺─╸[~] texmaker
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

With texmaker at 4.0.4-1, texmaker works. The texmaker-qt4 works at version 4.1-1 though, so I'll stick with that.

I have same problem - downgrading to 4.0.4 and it works again.

I am using kde - fully updated with testing repo.

@GeneC: Any ideas on how to get it to tell us anymore information apart from "segmentation fault (core dumped)"? I can't seem to find anything in the logs at all about it.

Can someone supply the output file produced from `objdump -DCI texmaker texdump`? Be sure to include any messages found in `dmesg` from this. Thank you.

Are you sure this is not a duplicate of  FS#37728 ? What is the libxcb version?
Comment by Claire Farron (clfarron4) - Wednesday, 04 December 2013, 21:51 GMT
@arojas, well I'll be damned. I missed that one. Downgraded libxcb from 1.9.3-1 to 1.9.1-1 (I did say I was running [testing]) and it's now working.

Now if only libxcb was in [testing].

Closing.
