Reason for closing:  Won't fix

sounds more like a kernel problem then a udev problem.
Comment by Miroslaw Czachor (forest76) - Monday, 30 January 2006, 20:56 GMT
I don't think so, two reasons:
1) after rollback to udev-0.68-5 and use hwd as hardware detect
EVERYTHING is fine
2) I give above error messages after type /etc/start_udev
(start udev take 30 sec)

is this bug still valid with latest packages?
Comment by Miroslaw Czachor (forest76) - Tuesday, 14 February 2006, 12:43 GMT
Yes on udev 084-4, I still give this error:
----------------------------------------------
hdf: 0 bytes in FIFO
hdf: timeout waiting for DMA
hdf: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdf: dma_intr: error=0x10 { SectorIdNotFound }, LBAsect=19541088, sector=19541088
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
hde: 0 bytes in FIFO
hde: timeout waiting for DMA
hde: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hde: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC }
ide: failed opcode was: unknown
----------------------------------------------
on my disks, and dma go down.
I have highpoint udma100 (370A) controler.

Thanks for interesting my problem and greetings,

Miroslaw

what kernel module are you using for it?
Comment by Tobias Powalowski (tpowa) - Saturday, 08 April 2006, 11:16 GMT
still the same status?
Comment by Miroslaw Czachor (forest76) - Thursday, 13 April 2006, 06:28 GMT
I have just tested my udev ststus on 2.6.16.4-1 kernel
and udev-089-2 and standard ArchLinux repos with testing.
I have removed every modules from /etc/rc.conf
MODULES="" array, switched MOD_AUTOLOAD to yes and booted from
initrd26-full.img image.
And... NO CHANGE.
If this problems are specific only for me please close this
task, becouse hwd and old udef works perfectly for me.

Miroslaw.
