I receive the same error playing music in amarok:
amarok: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/kde4/plugins/phonon_backend/phonon_vlc.so: undefined symbol: _ZN6PhononlsE6QDebugRKNS_5StateE

Steps to reproduce:
Open amarok from command line, double click song in playlist.

Result:
Amarok crashes leaving only this error: "amarok: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/kde4/plugins/phonon_backend/phonon_vlc.so: undefined symbol: _ZN6PhononlsE6QDebugRKNS_5StateE"

Expected Result:
Song plays.

Change from phonon to phonon-qt4 was not showing in Apper update manager. It did using pacman -Syu. Installing that resolved the issue. Thanks.
