Description:
Currently the kid3 package includes 3 binaries: kid3 (the usual KDE version), kid3-cli and kid3-qt. Since the whole point of kid3-qt is being able to install it without KDE dependencies, it doesn't make sense to ship it in the same package as the regular kid3. Note that upstream explicitely says to use the -DWITH_APPS=KDE flag when building for KDE

http://sourceforge.net/p/kid3/code/ci/master/tree/INSTALL

I guess they made buiding both versions the default in order to make it easier for distros to build split packages
