Description:

libumfpack.so is not provide in suitesparse package.
Is it present in other distros such as Fedora.

It is needed to compile gegl.

In fact this Packages does not contain any shared objects, I need for example libcholmod.so for now...

I contacted SuiteSparse maintainer to ask him if he could change his Makefile or use autotools. Wait&See.

Upstream doesn't provide autotools, just a bunch of Makefiles.

I won't have time to look into this for the next couple of weeks, but I'm not opposing the idea of including shared libs in the package. Maybe we can use this http://www.cise.ufl.edu/research/sparse/SuiteSparse_config/ from the gentoo guys.

Feel free to provide patches if you can ;-) or wait until I find time to look into it.

SuiteSparse maintainer would like to move to CMake instead of manual Makefiles. Maybe he can be helped ?
