DetailsPeople commonly refer to this application as `smartctl`. It's hard to find it when description doesn't say anything about smartctl. Only gsmartcontrol is reachable through pacman -Ss smartctl.

No. There is no reason why gsmartcontrol has explicitly "smartctl" in its description, while smartmontools does not.

Does gmsartcontrol only provide a GUI for smartctl? If so, I think the descriptions are accurate.
