Last version of xbmc-pvr-addons the in the arch repository (Build Date: 2013-10-23 12:22 UTC) freeze XBMC 12.2-5 with this log in /var/log/messages.log :
Error in `/usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc.bin': malloc(): memory corruption:

If I try to remove xbmc-pvr-addons : pacman -R xbmc-pvr-addons , XBMC works fine again.

All works fine before the recent update of xbmc-pvr-addons.

I had the same problem but I managed to fix by patching the PKGBUILD with the attached patch.

Increasing the version number did not solve anything for me ;-)
Why don't you use the frodo branch?
