Don't flag packages out-of-date for release candidates.

this rc is release 4 months ago, the prev release is also a release candidate (2.1-rc1)

more distros use this release candidate

http://packages.debian.org/sid/lua-socket (stable use 2.0.2)
https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/lua-socket (F20 use 2.1-rc1 and F19 use 2.0.2)
http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/dev-lua/luasocket/

i attached pkgbuild v2: now install unix socket support

greetings

So your point is that everyones stable release uses 2.0.2?

Until upstream declare it stable by making an actual release, it should not be updated in Arch.
