Similar issue here to when using a headset (Philips SHB9100). Immediately disconnects after connecting.

Works when using pulseaudio-git from AUR which supports bluez5.9

See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1334652#p1334652

Similar problem here. My adapter is a Broadcom BCM2035. Used to work great with bluez4. This is what I get when I try and pair my headset with bluetoothctl:

[NEW] Controller 00:13:46:4D:6A:C6 echidna [default]
[NEW] Device 00:1D:BA:29:50:D3 DR-BT50
[bluetooth]# pair 00:1D:BA:29:50:D3
Attempting to pair with 00:1D:BA:29:50:D3
[CHG] Device 00:1D:BA:29:50:D3 Paired: yes
Pairing successful
[CHG] Device 00:1D:BA:29:50:D3 Connected: yes
[CHG] Device 00:1D:BA:29:50:D3 Paired: no
[CHG] Device 00:1D:BA:29:50:D3 Connected: no

Also installing pulseaudio-git from AUR does not seem to solve the issue

With pulseaudio-git I can connect using bluetoothclt, but not with gnome's bluetooth-wizard. I use a tablet that can use my computer as an audio sink. Anyway pulseaudio-git partially works - if the pairing is made using bluetoothctl, everyrhing's fine. I can use gnome's bluetooth-preferences to connect and disconnect as I please but, if the pairing is made using gnome's bluetooth wizard, the connection is soon lost - either by bluetoothctl or bluetooth-preferences. Since this involves bluez, pulseaudio and gnome-bluetooth it's difficult for a simple user like myself to report the problem to the proper developers. Anyway since I'm on gnome bugzilla I filled in there also - https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=712379

headsets are probably something different and not yet properly supported by pulseaudio - see https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1376836

all other connecting issues that upstream says they should work need to be fixed. please work together with upstream (#bluez-users or #bluez).

these shouldn't be packaging issues.

^^^

"Not all audio devices will work. In particular, PulseAudio (at least as of v4.0-6) only supports A2DP devices, not HFP devices."

Well I just got a phone that works perfectly, while my tablet's connection fails - albeit both are Android-powered Sansumg's...

My tablet's audio sink is OK now with pulseaudio 5.0-1 installed...
