Hi, the system-config-printer-applet (applet.py) should
appear automatically in the system tray when documents are
printed, and disappear when completed. However, under both
Gnome Shell and Cinnamon, the applet will not appear at all,
even when run manually from the command line.
Thanks. |

Version 1.4.2-1 in [testing] is slightly better, but still buggy. When I login to a Cinnamon desktop with documents waiting in the print queue, the applet DOES appear in the tray as expected. However, when started with an empty print queue and then trying to print to a paused printer, the applet does NOT appear unless I logout and login again.
The applet works correctly in other desktops such as openbox. As soon as a document enters the print queue it appears, and disappears when the queue is empty again.
If you don't have a printer, you can test this bug with a paused cups-pdf virtual printer.
