DetailsDescription:
Linux kernel has in-built support for hybrid suspend (s2both) since kernel 3.6. However, pm-utils does not support it, and uses a s2ram -> timeout -> s2disk. There is a patch available to add this support: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=866487 Upstream ticket: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52572 Additional info: Steps to reproduce: |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: We will not implement this. pm-utils is on our list of stuff getting dropped.

The reason I'm requesting a patch here is because upstream has not responded to the bug nor added the patch for over a year now.

We should be dropping pm-utils ASAP, it is obsolete. The support is disabled *by default* in upower, but we are re-enabling it, likely because some packages still depend on it (KDE?).

Daniel: Unfortunately, that's true.. KDE seems to be using pm-utils in the UI. It also uses pm-utils for events like closing the lid, opening it, pressing sleep button, etc. I don't see any way to change this.
