Upgrading from texlive-fontsextra-2013.30955-1 to 2013.31570-1, the mathdesign package loses the garamond font (mdugm).

I believe this is a mistake from upstream as there is no reason why this font should be dropped.

Could you repackage texlive-fontsextra once upstream readds it?

I also had this problem. Some googling revealed that the mathdesign package is being reorganized, and that this will be fixed upstream in the future. There is some discussion on the mailing lists, but I can't find the link right now. Perhaps Arch can temporarily repackage fontsextra with the old version of mathdesign?

Will be fixed in version 2013.33010-1 to come soon.

the situation is better but I'm not sure it is totally fixed.
Gaëtan, can you try it?

Can you post a simple example that failed before and worked after ? I couldn't understand how to do it.

The following used to fail with "! LaTeX Error: File `mdugm.sty' not found." but now compiles fine.

\documentclass[a4paper]{article}
\usepackage[urw-garamond]{mathdesign}
\begin{document}
\[abcd1234\]
\end{document}
