Details

Description:
I just installed the new ligthdm package (1.6.1-3) and I cannot login to xfce4 anymore. To workaround I must start X manually (with startfce4 in my .xinitrc). I use the gtk3 greeter and I noticed it did not get updated yet, so that may be the problem here. Here is the content of /var/log/lightdm/x-0-greeter.log:

** (process:1878): WARNING **: Failed to open CK session: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit was not provided by any .service files

(lightdm-gtk-greeter:1880): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_shell_parse_argv: assertion `command_line != NULL' failed

** (lightdm-gtk-greeter:1880): WARNING **: Failed to open sessions directory: Error opening directory '/usr/share/lightdm/remote-sessions': No such file or directory

Steps to reproduce:
Upgrade to new lightdm package. Try to log into a DE.

Did you merge the changes from /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf.pacnew? I have renamed /usr/lightdm/xsession to /usr/lightdm/Xsession for consistency. I admit I forgot to put a notice in the install file, but I fixed that mistake in 1.6.1-3 after being kindly reminded. Pacman should have printed a warning if you upgraded from 1.6.0.
The GTK3 greeter works fine here btw, it does not need updating.

I did not merge, acutally I only upgraded to 1.6.1-2 so that must be why I missed the notice. I will try to remember to do pacdiff when I run into trouble after an upgrade. Sorry for the trouble.

No trouble, the fault was mine for not displaying a warning. 1.6.1-3 should land on mirrors soon, I updated it a few hours ago.
