DetailsRight now quodlibet depends on pymad, pyvorbis, and gst-python, but those alone aren't enough for it to work properly. It uses GStreamer now, so in order to play MP3 files, it needs gst-plugins-mad; for ogg vorbis, gst-plugins-ogg and gst-plugins-vorbis; for flac, gst-plugins-flac as well as pyflac; etc. Without the relevent GStreamer plugins, it won't detect the presence of files of those types, let alone play them.

Additional comments about closing: A minimal set of plugin dependencies is added by default now. A pointer to the upstream requirements page has been made to make clear which things are required to do more than just mp3 and ogg playlists.
