The ipw2200 package only contains an old version of the firmware, but no driver. The driver is in the kernel, but it's so ancient, it's not usable. I'd ask that the driver be removed from the kernel until the kernel driver is more up to date. Also, please create three packages, ieee80211, ipw2200, and ipw2200-fw that contain up to date drivers.

Thanks!

The kernel needs an old version of the firmware. The problem will be fix with kernel 2.6.15
Now in the pkg ipw2200 there are symbolic link to the new version.
What problems do you have with this pkg?

There's no driver in it. I installed ipw2200 thinking it's a driver that is 1.0.8 (as it's named) but there's nothing in there except old firmware for the kernel. At least rename it so people don't get confused.

simple answer wait for 2.6.15 or please package it yourself, all work is done in kernel now so new drivers will appear with new kernel. thanks for your patience
