Description:
rpcbind hangs when started by systemd.
When I start it from the command line it silently terminates after some minutes.
There seams to be no logging information.

The problem started today when I upgraded rpcbind (0.2.0-12 -> 0.2.1-2)

Downgrading to 0.2.0-12 cures the problem.

You need the correct rpcbind user check if you already had an user with the according numbers.
Comment by Tobias Powalowski (tpowa) - Monday, 09 September 2013, 06:34 GMT
grep rpc /etc/group
rpc:x:32:
grep rpc /etc/passwd
rpc:x:32:32:Rpcbind Daemon:/dev/null:/bin/false

If you already have an user or group with 32 please fix this group.
