Details

Description:

While using fullscreen applications (for example the game Hedgewars and Dosbox), Xscreensaver starts the screensaver as if it doesn't notice that there is activity going on during gameplay (keyboard buttons being pushed, mouse being moved)

Additional info:
* package version(s) 5.22-1
* config and/or log files etc.


Steps to reproduce:

-Install Xscreensaver and activate it

-Set a screensaver appearance timeout (for example 3 minutes)

-Install for example Hedgewars

-Start playing

-During gameplay the screen will suddenly go blank as the screensaver activates

Probably need to report it upstream. As a workaround, you can use a trivial script to send the heartbeat command when your game is active[1]. Just substitute the name of your game's executable for 'xbmc.bin' in the script itself.

We are now at xscreensaver 5.26-1 - if this is still happening please check for known upstream bugs or report a new one there.
