⎜ ↳ USB OPTICAL MOUSE id=9 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]

Here is exactly the same. I'm with HP ProBook 4540s.

I found that the module "psmouse" is not loaded. When modeprobe it returned: "Exec format error".

I also had to downgrade to 3.10.6-2.

My problem was with the "synaptics-led" package. I delete the "psmouse" module from /usr/lib/modules/extramodules-3.10-ARCH/psmouse.ko.gz , after that reinstall "synaptics-led" and after that the module was loaded and touchpad was working with linux-3.10.9-1.
