Details

Description:
Many reports an error reading the file from the playlist. Playlist uses not mounted device.

Additional info:
* package version(s): 1.0.8 (x86_64)

Steps to reproduce:
Create playlist with many video files (in my case, 137)on mounted device;
Unmount device;
Try to open playlist;
Get 137 error messages;
System slows down...

You cannot access a file on a filesystem that is not mounted. So what do you expect here? Where is the actual bug?

I get MANY, instead of one, 'can't open' error messages - this is actual bug.

I don't think that it's a big problem, but if you want to get this bug fixed, then report this problem to the upstream developers:
http://code.google.com/p/gnome-mplayer/issues/list
