sox 12.17.9-1 is the latest, please try that one.

Sorry, my mistake, thats the version causing the garbled sound, I had checked a repo that isn't up to date...
I can use sox-12.17.4-3.pkg.tar.gz just fine, but 12.17.9-1 is definately messing up sound.
Let me know what else I can do...

please attach a non-working file, a simple .wav test works for me in both versions.

Unfortunately, every file causes this...it cannot play any sounds whatsoever.

On a fully updated system it works fine for me. I don't know where else to go from here.
You could try emailing the users list and ask if anyone else has the problem?

Can be closed, I only used sox for a kde 3.5 workaround.
I'm not sure about sox right now though as I'm not using arch at the moment.
