Details

When a user clicks on a link to an AVI, MPEG, MOV, etc. file in Konqueror and selects "Open with Noatun", Noatun will crash immediately after starting. The Noatun systray icon and window will appear for less than a second before being replaced by a KDE crash dialog. If more than one session of Noatun is running at the time, all sessions will crash.

The crash backtrace provided with this report was from a crash induced by attempting to play the file at this location:

http://ftp.gnome.org/mirror/temp/seth/blog-images/monkey-hoot/mpeg4/WobblyWindows.avi

If downloaded to the hard disk and played, no errors will occur. Tempfs was mounted (as per default) during the attempt to play this file. If another movie player - e.g. Totem, gXine, MPlayer - is used to play the file directly from the page, it will play properly.

Hmm, I think this might alse be related to the nonfunctionality of KDE's embedded media player. Try openning the link above in another tab in Konqueror to see what I mean... The embedded player will appear, but nothing will happen.

this seems also an upstream issue and not package related, please fill a bug at kde's bugtracker, thanks
