Description:

The "ip link" command's parser incorrectly checks for help after parsing the "dev" keyword, rather than before. As a result, it is impossible to manipulate links named things like "he" (a potentially reasonable name for a sit tunnel to ISP Hurricane Electric).

Additional info:
* package version(s)

3.10.0-1

* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

# ip link add name he type dummy
# ip link delete dev he
[shows help message rather than deleting link]

Note: to clean up after verifying the bug, you have to delete the interface by ifN where N is its number:

# ip link delete if$(ip link | sed -ne 's/^\([0-9]*\): he: .*/\1/p')

even this won't work if you have an interface actually named ifN, since names take precedence, though that is unlikely.

A patch to the arch package it attached.
