try adding
options libata atapi_enabled=1
in /etc/modprobe.conf
Comment by sml (sml) - Sunday, 25 December 2005, 11:48 GMT
I tried numerous options of enabled libata both in the grub menu.lst and also in modprobe.conf.
eg libata atapi_enabled=1 & libata.atapi_enabled=1
I could not get the dvd/cdrom to be detected.

I compiled a 2.6.15rc kernel and there were no problems.
