Description:

I just ran a -Syu a few days ago and during this Avidemux got upgraded from 2.5.6-6 to 2.5.6-7 which worked without any errors.

Today I wanted to cut out unwanted sections from a television recording (done by mplayer, see attachment for mplayer -identify for that file) and loaded the file. When checking in Avidemux I played the file. The video was played correctly, but the audio was played from 00:00:00.000 and not from video position.

This is reproducible for all recorded files: Audio gets played from the beginning, and video gets played from the selected position resulting in HEAVY audio/video sync issues (no, this has nothing to do with selecting only copy in the left sidebar of Avidemux. This happens with all codecs and even in the preview within Avidemux and setting an audio shift does not solve the problem).

It seems like audio is left completely untouched, not even set to the selected position and always plays from the beginning. This also affects rendering the file making Avidemux useless.

Because file limit here is too low, I put a random example recording on my server. See https://0x7be.de/~dirk/test.mpg

Additional info:

* producible by switching between 2.5.6-6 and 2.5.6-7
* Avidemux config untouched, see attached files

Steps to reproduce:

* Upgrade to Avidemux 2.5.6-7
* Edit the file as described above and see the results
* Downgrade to Avidemux 2.5.6-6
* Edit the file as described above: all fine again

Probably a ffmpeg/x264 bug as 2.5.6-7 is the same as the old version except it's built against the newer ffmpeg/x264.

Could you report your problem to upstream? It may need quite a bit patching and I'm not familiar with avidemux internals to do it on my own.

I got the same problem since the update. I made a search on Google but I could find other reports on the same issue on the net.
