Hi,
when opening a new tab in gnome-terminal 3.8, the new tab is always opened in the home directory. This wasn't the case in previous gnome-terminal versions: new tabs were opened in the same pwd as the previous one. From what I grasped from the upstream bug about it [1], the change is unintentional and related to Fedora specific changes in gnome-terminal/vte. This is a *very* annoying bug for heavy terminal users, and may require downstream intervention. I'd be grateful if arch could either fix the thing properly or work around it in some fashion. FYI, the actual arch package is gnome-terminal 3.8.4-1. Thanks! [1]https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=697475 |

Current solution is to enable the login shell option.

That indeed does the trick, thanks! Yet, it's not really
discoverable...
