This happens because nitrogen needs to be linked against X11 now, whereas it didn't in the past. It's been fixed upstream already (https://github.com/l3ib/nitrogen/commit/30b50d1e3d77966cd29e27c12dbe8f12eff2175d), so until there's a new release here's a patch (https://github.com/l3ib/nitrogen/commit/30b50d1e3d77966cd29e27c12dbe8f12eff2175d.patch).
