Description:
After upgrade to 4.2.0.11-3 my colleagues reported difficulties to understand my words during a skype call. I tried calling the Echo/Sound Test Service, and indeed my recorded voice sounded crackling and unnaturally fast. Downgrading to 4.2.0.11-1 solves the problem, at least with the Echo Service (I still had not the opportunity to test it on a real call). I noticed no audio playback problem with both the above versions.

Tested on x86_64, I have no idea if the problem exists also for i686. Hardware: HDA Intel with Realtek ALC262 chip (Centrino2 platform).

Additional info:
* package version(s)
skype 4.2.0.11-3

Steps to reproduce:
1) Install skype 4.2.0.11-3 on an x86_64 system
2) Call the Echo/Sound Test Service, record something and hear playback

I solved my problem: I have tweaked /etc/pulse/default.pa previously just to fix a skype bug; the very same bug has been fixed in build 3, but the two fixes were obviously conflicting. As explained here:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1287044#p1287044

I removed tsched=0 from /etc/pulse/default.pa, reinstalled build 3 of skype and now it works.
