Detailssyndaemon included in the synaptics package is a daemon to monitor the keyboard and when used disable the touchpad for a specified interval. It would be nice to include an rc.d script that starts it. Maybe something like the files I included (init script and configuration file for it).

Hmm, seems what I supplied doesn't work if you're not logged into X (which of course is the case when starting the computer). syndaemon complains about not being able to open the display. I search the internet for a bit and from what I can see it's not possible to start it unless X is running, so you might as well delete this feature request.
