Description:
When GDM starts, Numlock is active and the led is ON. When pressing any of the modifier keys like SHIFT while typing your name or password, the led goes OFF but numlock stays active. Pressing numlock then turns off numlock and the led stays off. When pressing it again, the led goes on again and numlock is reactivated... After that, pressing the modifier keys don't affect the state of the led anymore and numlock can be correctly turned on and off with 1 press of the numlock key. Additional info: * This used to work before, my guess is that it occured around the release of Gnome 3.8, but I'm not completely sure. We're at GDM 3.8.3-1 right nog, but it occured already a couple of versions earlier as well. * See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1297817 where several users including me describe the issue. We're all using GDM and a Gnome session. * I tested this with SLIM login manager on my affected machine and the issue is not present there. Turning back to GDM I have the same problem again every time I want to login. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start GDM. numlock led is turned on and numlock is active. This is the wanted behaviour. 2. Press SHIFT, CTRL, ALT or SUPER. Numlock stays active, but the led goed out. 3. Press the numlock key. Numlock is turned off and the led stays out. 4. Press numlock again. Numlock is reactivated and the led goes on again. 5. Pressing SHIFT or another modifier key doesn't affect numlock anymore. Numlock can now be turned on or off with the numlock key like it should be. |

Tested with Cinnamon 2.0 and MDM, no problem there. Problem is in GDM and gnome-session packages probably.
Hope this bug will get some love!
Can you update all packages and try again? I know it has been an issue for me too until the last time I checked, being a week or 2 ago.
Thanks for the follow-up!
