Description: In LibreOffice Writer 4.0.4, the ruler on the top of the page is too thin, and as a result unusable. Also the numbers inside the ruler do not appear at all (UI font: Droid Sans).

It should be noted that using the AUR package libreoffice-rpm, the ruler appears correctly.

I attach two files: writer-arch.png demonstrates the problem, writer-rpm.png demonstrates the (probably) correct behaviour.

My ruler is pretty big. Please follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Libreoffice#Theme and see if any of the steps helps cure this. Also be sure to remove (and backup) ~/.config/libreoffice before attempting to troubleshoot.

None of the suggestions in the referenced wiki page helped; removing the configuration directory did not help either.

Do the numbers inside the ruler appear on your computer?

Is there any change if you use a different GTK theme?

I am on KDE. I tried qtconfig-qt4 with other themes, with no change.

What happens if you install (use) libreoffice-gnome instead of libreoffice-kde4?

This is how mine looks:

libreoffice-kde4: http://i.imgur.com/HVz0Ba8.png
libreoffice-gnome: http://i.imgur.com/3KDej6M.png

Be sure to have only one of the above installed. If you want to try the other, uninstall the previous one. I am on KDE as well, and my base font size for the entire desktop is 11pt, so you might want to replicate that.

Using libreoffice-gnome, the ruler appears correctly, just as in the picture attached by Ray Rashif and when using libreoffice-rpm package.

Changing the base font size with libreoffice-kde does not help.

All this is observed on both my computers (which have mostly similar installations).

So it seems there are other factors affecting the size of the ruler, but we won't know until one additional person can reproduce the problem. Assigning to maintainer.
