gdmXnest should start an Xnest window with an instance of gdm but instead just starts with the black X screen. This output is given but believed to be unrelated: DISPLAY=:20 _XSERVTransSocketOpenCOTSServer: Unable to open socket for inet6 _XSERVTransOpen: transport open failed for inet6/OmniRadix:20 _XSERVTransMakeAllCOTSServerListeners: failed to open listener for inet6 Maro has confirmed this behaviour so I am submitting this bugreport to hash out why this is the case. Reason for closing: Works for me
Additional comments about closing: Either this has been fixed in a gdm release, or this is caused by something bad with Xorg. I could reproduce it a while ago, but it works fine now.
