Description:

grub-mkinstall installs a broken binary to the EFI system partition.

Specifically, it gets stuck when loading the initramfs image.

This has started happening since the merging of the various grub packages into a single unified package, and currently, the solution is to downgrade to the last set of split packages and install grub using those files.

Boards tested with:
Asus Sabertooth Z77, UEFI 1805
Lenovo X220T Tablet, UEFI v1.38

no specific config.

Steps to reproduce:
run 'grub-mkinstall' or 'grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id=arch_grub --recheck ' to install to ESP
reboot
system is stuck when loading initramfs
