Hello,
i have a bug on steam when using catalyst. In fact, at each steam boot i have this error:

"OpenGL GLX context is not using direct rendering, which may cause performance problems.

For more information visit https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9938-EYZB-7457.";

When i add the LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose to steam in console, i see this error:

libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri//tls/swrast_dri.so
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri//swrast_dri.so
libGL error: dlopen /usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri//swrast_dri.so failed (/usr/lib/xorg/modules/dri//swrast_dri.so: mauvaise classe ELF : ELFCLASS64)
libGL error: unable to load driver: swrast_dri.so
libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast

In fact, steam appears to load lib64 driver instead of lib32. I don't know how to tell him to use it, but when i backup the 64b driver and replaced it with the 32b driver in the directory, i just get a failed to load driver.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
multilib/steam 1.0.0.39-2

Steps to reproduce:
Use fglrx and launch steam with LIBGL=verbose steam and look at the console.

Thanks for the news, but it seems steam is always in a 32bit version at this time

Have you install 32-bit catalyst drivers ?

Closing as catalyst isn't in the repos, and it isn't a steam bug.
