IMO archlinux.org needs improving!
Currently it has no doctypes, non-valid code, inline styles somewhere, uses tables for layout, has incorrect presentation of lists...
And main page of bbs.archlinux.org shows incorrectly in Konqueror. I can see only first three thread titles stretched to the whole window height!
I know, that you developers have not much time. And I appreciate all work that you done with archlinux.org.
But archlinux.org needs constant improving!
If you would give me some access to the code (for example, snapshot of some sources, including PHP) it would be great honour for me to do all my best for improving archlinux.org! :-)
You should encourage more developers to Arch Linux by giving them oportunities to make their contributions!

Another small thing:
Bug #3441 "Title of archlinux.org doesn't represents archlinux" (2005-11-07) is fixed but remains Assigned. It should be Closed.

it all displays correctly here and yes, i use konqueror (from kdebase 3.5.0-4 / 3.4.3 worked fine too) so i do not see where it would need drastic improvements layout wise.

I am using Konqueror 3.3.2.
See the screenshot.
If KHTML developers fixed this bug - thanks to them! :-)

But still archlinux.org need some more work. It is good already but there is space for more improvements! :-)
If developers have no time for this - why not let other Archers to contribute to the site?

And bug #3441 remains Assigned and should be Closed.

woops, that really looks horrible. 3.3.2 is out of date quite a bit even though, it has been upgrade a real long time ago at least for arch. :)
about someone contributing we should let somebody from the "webdev-team" (there's nothing like that, is there?) judge.

IMO the number of Arch Linux developers should grow. We should create few teams responsible for different fields of work.
Look at Gentoo community - it's GREAT!
We should make Arch community more solid. There should be good structure of dev teams.
And there should be much more COOPERATION between devs!!! It will let us move forward fast.
Who is responsible for website? Is dibblethewrecker still working with updated forum design?
To whom I can send my contributions to website code???

I agree. The website really needs improving.
I think a new CSS-based (div) layout would be great. The layout should be at least w3c standart valid.

I have some experiences with CSS-based layouts. If you are interested in my work, let it me know.

Also it would be nice if packages.php showed the name of the package you're looking at in the title, so you can tell one from the other when looking at a lot of bookmars, tabs, or history items. I know that for most purposes I should just use pacman -Ss and not strain archlinux.org so much, but I find it really useful to be able to view dependencies, urls and CVS changes.

Where's the source for the arch website kept?

I'm working on new design and prototype of backend for Arch Linux and AUR site. When I finish work I'll send it to devs, maybe they'll like it. I do this "just for fun", but if this can be helpful for Arch community - it will be even better result. :)

Shouldn't this bug be closed now?
