Description:
Currently images imported into Openshot are not behaving correctly. They come out as 0:00 length and show up as Videos rather than images. After installing Kdenlive (which does a check of the MLT engine) I believe the issue is that the QImage module is missing from the official mlt package.

Installing mlt-git package, which has the QImage module in it, fixes the bad behaviour in Openshot.

Additional info:
* openshot v1.4.3-2, mlt 0.9.0-1

Steps to reproduce:
* Install Openshot package
* Start Openshot and Import an image file (e.g. jpg)
* Note that the length is incorrect and cannot be changed

Hi,

I have same problem. I can't import title or SVG file. mlt-git solved my problem.

I have the same problem on Manjaro Linux ... and mlt-git didn't solve the problem unfortunately for me.

Unfortunately it now appears that when one imports an image you receive a "Segmentation Fault (core dumped)" and Openshot dies. Could this please be looked at?

Works fine for me, please try to get a backtrace. You will have to rebuild some packages with debug flags enabled, refer to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Debug_-_Getting_Traces for more info.

Attached is a full stacktrace of the seg fault. Hopefully its what you are after. Let me know if you require any further info.

Thanks, this doesn't seem to be related to mlt. Since I see gtk calling qt, do you use a qt theme engine in gtk? If you can rule that out, please try asking openshot upstream, I don't think this is a packaging problem so it's best if it's dealt with upstream.

I don't think I'm using a qt theme engine in gtk - though not sure what I'd be looking for so any pointers would be great.

Also just for fun (ok, out of interest) I tried building mlt locally by using abs/makepkg. After installing the locally compiled version Openshot seems happy. Not sure what that means but thought I'd let you know in case it points in a particular direction...

Alright since rebuilding mlt fixes the problem it's most likely an issue in mlt. Please open a bug on http://sourceforge.net/p/mlt/bugs/

It works for me with the following packages:
- mlt 0.9.0-5
- openshot 1.4.3-3

Could you still reproduce this problem?
