Detailsis useful that pacman when install a package outside repo (e.g. AUR),
copy the compiled *package*.pkg.tar.xz in the pacman packages cache under /var |

Then set PKGDEST=/var/cache/pacman/pkg in /etc/makepkg.conf ....

It's not my fault your package cache isn't writeable by your user. You could fix that, you know...
