Why libdialog.a file removed from package?

In PLGBUILD in package() function present this line:

rm "${pkgdir}"/usr/lib/libdialog.a

This lib needed by some other software.

Well, any software that uses libdialog. There's no shared library in that package, so removing the static library means removing the library completely.
