Details$ pacman -Q transmission-qt
transmission-qt 2.77-3 The system is fully upgraded. I installed transmission-qt and am using spacefm. There, when I double-click on a torrent file, transmission-qt opens and it shows a dialog with the file path and directory, but the file is empty and the files in the torrent are not visible (simply speaking, the dialog is broken). I traced it a bit and transmission-qt is called with an argument 'file:///home/wujek/Downloads/some.torrent', which comes from the /usr/share/applications/transmission-qt.desktop's 'Exec=transmission-qt %U' line (the %U stands for 'all passed arguments as urls). Apparently, transmission-qt cannot handle file:// urls. When the said line is changed to ''Exec=transmission-qt %F' it all works fine. What is interesting is that transmission-gtk handles file:// urls correctly. It is probably either a bug in transmission-qt or just in the .desktop file (which is added by arch afaik). Steps to reproduce: * make sure that transmission-qt is responsible for torrent files * start spacefm (or probably any other file manager that uses xdg-open) and double-click on a torrent file |
This task depends upon
https://trac.transmissionbt.com/browser/trunk/qt/transmission-qt.desktop
It used to be %F but was changed to %U to support magnet links:
https://trac.transmissionbt.com/changeset/13679/trunk/qt/transmission-qt.desktop
anyway if I open .torrent with dolphin transmission-qt shows the right dialog
